What happened

A dedicated social media monitoring team has been tracking various platforms to identify content deemed objectionable or potentially disruptive to public order. The investigation revealed that numerous videos and posts, specifically on Instagram, contained manipulated or false material intended to mislead the public.

In addition to the AI-generated content, authorities reported that over 400 social media handles linked to Pakistan were blocked for their alleged involvement in circulating fabricated material regarding the protest. The police are continuing to examine whether the flagged content violates legal standards or poses a direct threat to public order. Beyond the digital investigation, authorities utilized facial recognition and technical surveillance to identify 2,873 individuals with criminal records who were present at the Jantar Mantar site between July 20 and July 25, some of whom are facing charges for serious offenses.
