Watermark inspector

Is this file signed?

Upload any audio, image, or video file to check for Resemble AI's invisible watermark — the most reliable provenance signal for AI-generated media. C2PA and SynthID layering in development.

  • · Multimodal: audio, image, and video in one tool
  • · Detects Resemble-generated content at the source
  • · Tamper-resistant PerTh watermarking
Why watermarks

Detection catches what slipped through. Watermarks prove what came from where.

Resemble PerTh

Our proprietary watermark. Embedded into every voice generated through the Resemble AI platform. Survives compression, format conversion, and light edits. Multimodal — works across audio, image, and video.

C2PA · Content Credentials

Adobe-led open standard for cryptographically-signed content manifests. Carries information about capture device, edit history, and generative model. Being adopted by Sora, OpenAI, Leica, and Microsoft.

Google SynthID

Google DeepMind's invisible watermark for AI-generated content. Applied to Imagen, Veo, and Gemini-produced media. Public detection spec via SynthID Detector.

Frequently asked questions

What watermarks does this inspector detect?
The primary check is Resemble AI's multimodal watermark — present in audio, image, and video content produced or signed by the Resemble platform. We are adding C2PA / Content Credentials (Adobe) and Google SynthID as secondary checks in a future release.
What does it mean if no watermark is found?
Watermark absence is not a verdict on authenticity. A file without any detected watermark may still be genuine human-captured media. It simply means the file does not carry a Resemble-generated provenance signal. Use our deepfake detectors to check for AI-generation directly.
Why is provenance important?
Watermarks are the most reliable way to establish that content was (or was not) generated by a specific system. Unlike post-hoc detection, a watermark embedded at generation survives compression, format conversion, and minor edits — providing a cryptographic trail of origin.
Can I embed a Resemble watermark in my own generated media?
Yes — all voices generated through the Resemble AI platform are watermarked by default. For enterprise deployments that need watermark signing on custom pipelines, contact sales.
Is this watermark survives editing?
Resemble's PerTh watermark is designed for tamper-resistance. Light edits, compression, and format conversion preserve it; heavy re-encoding or deliberate removal attacks can degrade detectability. See the PerTh technical paper for details.
