An AI-generated image was created and falsely attributed to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, claiming to be a clearer image of Tyler R., the suspect in the Charlie Kirk shooting. The deepfake image contained several AI-generated artifacts, like a distorted flag, gibberish symbol, and unnaturally smooth skin. This image was then used by users online to falsely claim that the FBI had arrested the wrong person.
