In July, false claims regarding the health of Édouard Philippe were disseminated across social media, utilizing methodologies associated with the group Storm-1516. Additionally, a pro-Russian network identified as Matriochka has targeted Gabriel Attal since 2023. In these instances, accounts on X usurped the visual identities of established French media outlets, such as RFI and BFMTV, to circulate fabricated claims regarding health conditions, including Parkinson’s disease. These false reports were then amplified by coordinated messages directed at newsrooms.
In response to the proliferation of this manipulated content, BFMTV has initiated formal requests with social media platforms to ensure the removal of the fraudulent videos.
