A West Deptford man was arrested for allegedly using AI to create deepfake child pornography from existing photos of a minor victim, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

A West Deptford, NJ man was arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse material and creating deepfake or AI-generated child sexual abuse material. The arrest followed an investigation prompted by a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
What happened
Authorities allege that Ralph C. Foy, 40, used artificial intelligence to digitally manipulate "otherwise appropriate" photos of a minor into nude images. A search of Foy's home led to the discovery of 76 images of alleged child pornography on his cellphone, in addition to the digitally manipulated images. At the time of reporting, the charges are only allegations and Foy has not been convicted in the case.
