A Royal Air Force veteran, Jonathan Bates (54), received a five-year prison sentence for creating and distributing deepfake pornography of his ex-wife and three other women, whom he stalked for years. The images were posted on pornographic websites, including fake profiles advertising sexual services. The victims suffered severe impacts on their personal and professional lives, including fear, humiliation, and job loss. Police recovered thousands of images from his home. Despite efforts to remove the content, prosecutors stated the images would likely remain online indefinitely. Bates pleaded guilty to four counts of stalking and one count of revenge porn against his ex-wife. Each victim received a 10-year restraining order.
