Two teenage boys created and distributed 347 AI-generated deepfake pornographic images and videos of approximately 60 high school girls using photos from their public social media accounts. The images were shared within the school community. The boys were criminally charged with sexual abuse of children and possession of child pornography. This is considered the largest known instance of this crime involving minors in the US. Parents filed lawsuits against the school for negligence.
