In August 2026, a viral image circulated on social media platforms allegedly depicting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijit Dipke in a group photograph with George Soros, Greta Thunberg, Sam Pitroda, and Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. The post, which framed these individuals as working against India's national interests, was widely shared across platforms like Facebook.

What happened

Fact-checkers investigated the image after noting its suspicious nature and the lack of any credible media reports regarding such a high-profile meeting. Upon conducting a reverse image search and keyword analysis, investigators found no evidence that the event ever occurred, suggesting the content was fabricated. Further examination revealed clear technical anomalies consistent with synthetic media: the lighting and shadows across the subjects were inconsistent, and the figures appeared tightly packed with unnatural proportions and cutout edges that did not reflect a realistic camera perspective.

To confirm these findings, the image was processed through multiple AI-detection tools. Hive Moderation identified the image as AI-generated with a confidence score exceeding 99 percent, noting that it was likely created using ChatGPT. Similarly, the detection tool Is It AI independently verified the image as synthetic. Based on these technical indicators and the absence of factual evidence, the claim was officially debunked as false.
