Multiple female politicians across the US, UK, Italy, and Pakistan deepfake (Jan 2025)

Deepfake pornography and sexualized images targeting female politicians are spreading globally. The American Sunlight Project identified over 35,000 instances of deepfake content depicting 26 members of Congress (25 women) on pornographic sites. A Channel 4 investigation revealed that over 30 British female politicians, including Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, were targeted by a deepfake porn website. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is suing two men for creating and distributing deepfake porn videos of her. Deepfake videos targeting female politicians have also surfaced in Pakistan, including fabricated videos of lawmaker Meena Majeed and Information Minister Azma Bukhari.
