The social media post, shared on Instagram, combined real game footage with synthetic video to create a humorous narrative involving the two athletes.
What happened
Butler posted an AI-generated video that superimposed the likenesses of Steph Curry and Luka Doncic onto characters from the 1985 martial arts film The Last Dragon. In the synthetic clip, Curry’s likeness is depicted as the character Bruce Leroy. The video features a scene where Curry is asked, “Alright Leroy, who’s the one-and-only Master?” to which his likeness responds, “I am!”
Following this exchange, the likeness of Luka Doncic appears as a bystander watching the scene and exclaiming, “Holy s***!” The video further depicts Curry’s likeness performing martial arts techniques. Butler’s post also included actual footage of Curry breaking Doncic’s ankles during a game, accompanied by the caption “6/82.
