Des Healey, a Brighton kitchen fitter, lost £76,000 to a deepfake scam using the likenesses and voices of Martin Lewis and Elon Musk in a fake Facebook advert promoting a Bitcoin investment scheme. He invested his life savings and took out multiple loans before his son alerted him to the scam. Two banks have since canceled his loans, but he still owes approximately £26,000.
