In May 2026, a former Corinth Middle School teacher was sentenced to five years in prison following a 2024 scandal involving AI-generated child sexual abuse material. The teacher had created videos of students and concealed them from authorities.

What happened

School officials became aware on November 19, 2024, that Wilson Jones possessed AI-created videos of Corinth students. Jones resigned two days later. The superintendent did not notify the Mississippi Department of Education until January 2025. Evidence was seized in March 2025, leading to Jones's arrest. He pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in November 2025 and was sentenced in May 2026. As part of a plea agreement, Jones agreed to make restitution to the victims.
