Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo announced that the band had to replace the lyric video for their new single, "Bullshit," after discovering the commissioned designer utilized AI-generated material. The band had explicitly requested that no artificial intelligence be used during the creation of the project.

What happened

On June 18, 2024, Beartooth released a teaser for their upcoming single, which was subsequently flagged for containing AI content. Despite the band’s clear directive against the use of synthetic media, the hired designer adamantly maintained throughout the production process that no AI tools were involved. It was only after the band identified several red flags and held further conversations with the designer on the morning of the scheduled release that the truth was confirmed.

Shomo stated that the band has no interest in utilizing AI or working with artists who misrepresent their creative process, noting that such methods undermine the effort invested in their album. To resolve the issue, Shomo and his brother, Luke—who previously designed the album art—worked to produce a replacement lyric video in time for the song's scheduled debut. Shomo emphasized the band's commitment to human creativity and expressed appreciation for the fans' understanding of the situation.
