A freelancer writer, Margaux Blanchard, is suspected of being an AI creation after several publications noticed inconsistencies and odd payment requests. At least four periodicals removed AI-written articles credited to the fictional Blanchard. Wired removed an article titled 'They Fell in Love Playing Minecraft. Then the Game Became Their Wedding Venue.' Business Insider removed two pieces. AI detection tools provided initial conflicting reports, but further investigation revealed the fabrication.
