The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted an AI-generated image of alligators wearing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hats to its official social media channels. The image was posted on X and Instagram on June 28, 2025. AI-detection platforms suggested a 99% likelihood that the image was created with AI. The post was an apparent reference to the "Alligator Alcatraz" detention center.
