On June 23, 2026, a 32-year-old Lubbock man remained in custody following his arrest on charges related to the creation and possession of AI-generated sexual imagery featuring a juvenile family member. Jaron Rosales was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on three counts of possession of computer-generated child pornography, a state jail felony enacted in 2025.

What happened

The investigation began on March 18, when Lubbock police were contacted by family members of the accused. According to the arrest warrant, family members discovered images on Rosales' phone depicting a juvenile engaged in sexual acts. A family member reported to investigators that she believed Rosales utilized photos he had captured of a juvenile during a family gathering at his home as the basis for the AI-generated material. Following the initial report, a grand jury returned an indictment against Rosales on June 9. He was subsequently arrested near the intersection of 46th Street and Avenue A and remains held on a $50,000 bond.
