OpenAI released the Sora app, which allows users to create personalized deepfakes using their own likeness or that of others. Examples include a video of Sam Altman stealing a GPU from Target and videos of WIRED colleagues arguing. The app has some safety guardrails, but also allows for potentially convincing deepfakes.
