In April 2026, Richard Tice posted an image that was purported to be a Reform UK campaign event, but observers quickly noted signs of AI manipulation. The image spurred debate and analysis online, with experts pointing to several key giveaways.

What happened

Analysis of the image revealed multiple anomalies. Several individuals in the picture had mangled fingers, with one woman having six fingers on one hand. The signs, which were supposed to read ‘Get Starmer Out’, appeared garbled. Many faces in the image were blurred or smeared, and some objects appeared to float. The image also contained suspiciously perfect geometric patterns. Reform UK acknowledged that the image was edited using AI to increase brightness, but maintained that the photograph itself was real.
