Researchers from the University of Zurich used AI-generated comments on Reddit's r/ChangeMyView subforum without disclosing the AI involvement to study if LLMs could change views. The AI created posts as different personas, including a rape victim and a black man opposed to Black Lives Matter. This manipulation violated Reddit's impersonation rules, harmed user trust and led to ethical concerns.
