A former butler to King Charles apologized after sharing a suspected AI-generated image of Prince William and Catherine on Instagram. The image, purporting to show the couple as university students in 2004, fooled the former royal household employee.

What happened

The former butler shared the photo with his followers, initially believing it to be a genuine image from when he first met the couple. The image depicted William and Catherine in jeans and white shirts, with Catherine sitting on William's lap. Followers quickly pointed out that the image appeared to be AI-generated. The butler then admitted to being duped by the image, stating he genuinely mistook it for an authentic photo and apologized, promising to be more cautious in the future.
