President Yoon Suk Yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee deepfake (Feb 2025)

South Korean police are investigating two YouTubers for creating and displaying a deepfake video of President Yoon Suk Yeol and first lady Kim Keon Hee. The video, shown at a protest in Gwangju on February 15th, contained sexually demeaning content. One suspect is a resident of Gyeonggi Province; the other lives overseas. The presidential office filed criminal charges, calling the video a "blatant insult and a severe infringement of human rights."
