North Korean IT workers are using real-time deepfake technology to infiltrate organizations through remote work positions. They are using synthetic video feeds during job interviews to present different personas. A single operator can interview for the same position multiple times using different synthetic personas, and helps operatives avoid being identified. Unit 42 demonstrated the ease of creating a real-time deepfake using readily available tools and cheap consumer hardware.
