Influencer Sues Underwear Company, Alleging They Created an Explicit Deepfake of Her

In June 2026, content creator Molly Tranchin filed a lawsuit against the underwear brand Empowered By You (EBY) in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The suit alleges that the brand created and distributed an explicit, non-consensual deepfake video of the influencer, known online as FashionVeggie, without her authorization.

What happened

Tranchin, a body-positive creator with over 400,000 Instagram followers, had entered into contractual agreements with EBY beginning in May 2024 to provide user-generated content for marketing purposes. In October 2025, Tranchin submitted content that she described as modest, tasteful, and body-positive, depicting her wearing EBY products while covering her chest.

According to the complaint, EBY later posted an altered version of this content to its Instagram page. This version had been modified through AI to expose the influencer’s breasts through a sheer bra. Tranchin alleges that this action constituted non-consensual pornography, violated the terms of their contract, and infringed upon her intellectual property rights. The lawsuit states that the underlying agreement required EBY to submit any proposed edits to Tranchin for review and approval, and did not permit the brand to unilaterally alter the content. Tranchin is seeking permanent injunctive relief to have all copies of the video deleted, as well as actual, statutory, and punitive damages.
