On June 9, 2026, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama posted an AI-created video to his Instagram account depicting himself wearing a leather mini skirt and bra. The post was widely interpreted as a satirical jab at online content creators and influencers who have publicly criticized his administration. In the caption accompanying the video, the Prime Minister praised the quality of the AI production.

What happened

The video served as an escalation of tensions regarding a controversial luxury tourism project involving Jared Kushner. On June 7, during a public address, Rama had criticized bloggers and influencers for supporting demonstrations against the project, which is slated for development in the Narta Lagoon and on Sazan island. Rama argued that these influencers were primarily seeking publicity and lacked a genuine understanding of the issues. During that speech, he suggested that bloggers should compete by dressing as him or as a flamingo—a reference to cardboard flamingo cutouts used by demonstrators in Tirana to highlight the project's impact on a protected biodiversity zone. The AI-generated clip was a direct follow-up to these remarks, using synthetic media to mock his critics in the public eye.
