Iranian missile bases deepfake (Dec 2025)

AI-generated videos were posted on Instagram claiming to show Israeli missiles striking Iranian missile bases. The videos contained glitches typical of AI-generated footage, such as distorted objects, inconsistent shadows, and bizarrely shaped digits on a clock. An AI detection tool assessed the video as 99.8% likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content. Three of the clips were AI generated, likely with prompts designed to mimic a scene in a clip aired by Iranian television. The account that published the combined video clip posted AI generated footage in the past.
