Individuals and Businesses in Africa deepfake (Dec 2025)

Deepfake attempts have surged in Africa, with Zambia experiencing a 967% increase, DRC a 367% increase and South Africa a 269% increase. Nearly one in five people in Africa have been directly targeted by deepfake attacks. The report warns of autonomous fraud agents capable of forging synthetic identities and imitating user behavior.
