A high school senior in Sydney, Australia allegedly used AI to create deepfake pornography of female students using images from social media. Fake social media profiles were also created. Parents and students were notified. Police launched an investigation on January 6th. The NSW Department of Education is working with police and will take appropriate action. The incident is considered illegal and abhorrent. A similar incident occurred in Victoria in June 2022.
