Reports of AI-generated child pornography have increased by 86% in the past year. Dutch police are encountering AI-generated child pornography in investigations. In 2024, there were 153 reports, up from 82 in 2023. A Europol bust of an AI child porn platform led to 25 arrests, including four Dutch suspects. Dutch law does not differentiate between real and AI-generated child pornography in terms of criminal liability.
