The Mr. Deepfakes platform hosted 43,000 deepfake videos viewed over 1.5 billion times. These videos were generated by nearly 4,000 creators who profited from the unethical and illegal sales of non-consensual intimate imagery. The platform was shut down after a critical service provider terminated its service, potentially due to the newly passed Take It Down Act, which makes creating and distributing non-consensual intimate imagery illegal.
