Deepfake pornography videos and images of Cathy Newman and approximately 250 other British celebrities, mostly women, were found online. The deepfakes were created by superimposing their faces onto existing pornography. While the authorities offered limited assistance initially due to the non-authenticity of the images, the UK government is planning a new deepfakes offence to target creators and distributors.
