Bubblemaps has publicly disputed allegations of a secret advisory relationship with Proxima, identifying a circulated contract as a fabricated document likely generated by AI. The company asserts that the claims were part of a smear campaign orchestrated by a competitor.

What happened

An X user operating under the handle jujudog69 claimed to be a former Bubblemaps employee and alleged that the company had been receiving $45,000 in monthly consulting fees from Proxima since April 2025. The account further alleged that these payments granted Proxima access to proprietary parameters for Bubblemaps’ clustering algorithm, suggesting the tool helped bundled buyers evade detection.

Bubblemaps categorically denied these claims, stating that the individual behind the account had never been employed by the firm. The company highlighted several inconsistencies within the circulated contract that pointed to its fraudulent nature. Specifically, the document utilized a fabricated email address for the Bubblemaps CEO and listed a headquarters address that the company did not occupy until after the contract’s stated start date of April 2025. Furthermore, the address provided in the document conflicted with the company’s official public legal registration records. Bubblemaps emphasized that its small team maintains full awareness of its former employees' identities and urged the industry to remain vigilant against similar smear tactics employed by competitors.
