Beth Holland was scammed by an online ad on Facebook featuring deepfakes of Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Clarkson, Carnie Wilson, and her doctor, Dr. David Amron promoting a skin cream called “Svelta Venastra” for lipedema. The footage was pirated and digitally manipulated. Al Roker was also a victim, with a deepfake video of him promoting a product to reverse hypertension. Meta removed the lipedema cream ad featuring Winfrey. Holland received the cream but it didn't help. She got a refund by reporting fraud to her credit card company.
