On June 7, 2025, President Donald Trump utilized his Truth Social account to share AI-generated media that targeted political opponents rather than commemorating the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. While other world leaders and federal departments issued formal acknowledgments of the historic military operation, the president’s social media activity focused on synthetic imagery and political criticism.
What happened
The content shared by the president included an AI-generated music video set to the song "Trump," created by congressional candidate Anthony Constantino. The video featured synthetic clips of President Trump engaging in various activities, such as riding a lion, dining with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, and attending a UFC cage fight at the White House, all set to lyrics claiming international adoration.
Later that same day, the president shared an additional piece of AI-generated content: an image depicting the Obama Presidential Library in a state of severe deterioration. The manipulated image showed the structure surrounded by homeless encampments and covered in a large pile of garbage. Trump accompanied the image with a caption predicting the building would reach this state within ten years. Despite the significance of the D-Day anniversary, the president did not post any content regarding the event on his Truth Social account, instead using his platform to share these AI-generated visuals and to criticize other public figures.
