Two men have been arrested and charged by federal prosecutors in Brooklyn for allegedly using AI to create and distribute non-consensual porn. The men, Cornelius Shannon and Arturo Hernandez, allegedly ran separate online platforms.
What happened
Law enforcement discovered hundreds of digital albums containing thousands of manipulated photos and videos. These targeted over one hundred female victims, including actresses, singers, politicians, and non-celebrity women. The two men are only the second and third defendants to be prosecuted under the "Take It Down" Act. The content published by one of the men was allegedly viewed nearly a million times.
