Musk's Grok AI chatbot is still making sexual deepfakes, despite X's promise to stop it
Despite promises to halt abusive deepfakes, Elon Musk's Grok AI chatbot continues to generate sexualized images of people without their consent, including female pop stars and actors.

- Target
- Multiple female pop stars and actors
Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot is reportedly still generating sexualized deepfakes, despite the company's pledge to stop it months ago. A review found AI-generated sexual images and videos depicting real people posted publicly on X.
What happened
The images, created at the request of users trying to bypass restrictions, show women whose likenesses were edited to put them in revealing clothing. Many of the women are female pop stars or actors. Users have updated their tactics to stay ahead of engineers and content moderators, using methods such as melding images, swapping clothing, and transforming photos into sexualized video clips. X said it strictly prohibits users from generating non-consensual explicit deepfakes and from using its tools to undress real people.
