Women in India, including minors deepfake (Jan 2026)

Women's photographs are being misused with generative AI to create sexually explicit images without their consent. This includes incidents on X where users tagged the chatbot Grok to make sexually suggestive alterations to women's photos. Telegram has also emerged as a hub for AI-based image morphing, offering 'clothing removal' services. A security guard in Hyderabad was arrested for using AI to manipulate images of women he secretly photographed. Offline AI models are also being used to create deepfakes on personal computers.
