A security engineer at Vidoc Security Lab encountered two separate incidents involving deepfake job applicants. Both applicants used AI-based tools to alter their appearance during video interviews, displaying inconsistencies such as glitchy video, unnatural movements, and answers seemingly generated by ChatGPT. The applicants claimed to be from Poland and Serbia, respectively, but both had Asian accents. The security engineer suspects the incidents are part of a larger North Korea-style scam to steal sensitive information.
