A man is facing charges related to the alleged online exploitation and harassment of dozens of victims through deepfake pornography. The accused, Stephen Lowe, allegedly used acquaintances’ pictures to create what police called 'technology-facilitated sexual violence.'
What happened
Police allege that Lowe transposed victims' pictures onto the bodies of pornographic actors. The investigation began in September following a report from an alleged victim. Lowe faces charges including harassment, uttering threats, and possession of obscene material. The offences are alleged to have occurred between August 2020 and December 2025. At least twenty-five victims have been identified. Another man, Gregry Van Beek, also faces charges.
