A woman was blackmailed after a cyber cafe operator created deepfake obscene images of her. The perpetrator initially contacted the victim via Instagram.

What happened

The attacker created the images using AI and photos taken from the victim's social media account. He then sent the images to her, demanding money to keep them private. The woman paid the attacker money. The attacker later contacted the woman again and sent the images to her husband's phone after tracing her in-laws’ address. He then threatened to leak chats and the deepfake photos publicly to damage her marriage if more money was not paid. A police raid at the accused’s house occurred after a complaint was filed, but the suspects were not present. Police suspect the perpetrators targeted multiple women using similar methods.
