The Walt Disney Company deepfake (Dec 2025)

Two YouTube channels, Screen Culture and KH Studio, were shut down for using AI to create fake trailers featuring Disney-owned characters like Mickey Mouse and Deadpool. Disney sent a cease-and-desist letter to Google, claiming copyright infringement because Google's AI services were generating and distributing unauthorized content using Disney's IPs. Disney sought to have Google block its IPs from being used in the future and disclose which copyrighted works were utilized during the training of AI models.
