An AI-generated video posted on Truth Social depicted a simulated interaction between Donald Trump and Stephen Colbert. The clip shows a digital version of Trump physically assaulting Colbert and throwing him into a garbage bin.

What happened

The 22-second video shows an AI-generated Trump walking onto the set of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The simulated Trump then grabs Colbert, shakes him, and throws him into a trash bin while dancing to "Y.M.C.A." The post appeared on Truth Social a day after Colbert's final episode aired. Prior to the video, Trump criticized Colbert on Truth Social, hours after Colbert's final show which drew 6.7 million viewers.
