Sikh Gurus and Sikh community deepfake (May 2025)

Dhruv Rathee created a YouTube video titled 'The Sikh Warrior Who Terrified the Mughals' which included AI-generated visuals of Sikh Gurus. This sparked backlash from the Akal Takht, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), as depicting Sikh gurus in human form is considered inappropriate. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell, leading to the video being removed.
