Sand Springs Public Schools has temporarily disabled all student email accounts following the distribution of AI-generated images that depicted school administrators engaging in inappropriate conduct. The incident, which occurred in June 2026, prompted the district to launch an internal investigation and notify law enforcement.

What happened

AI-generated deepfake images were distributed to students through the school’s official email system. According to a letter sent to parents and students, the content originated from Charles Page High School students. The images portrayed school administrators in compromising and inappropriate situations.

Upon discovering that school-issued platforms and networks were used to disseminate the harmful content, the district took immediate action to disable all student email accounts pending the outcome of an investigation. Sand Springs Police Captain Todd Enzbrenner confirmed that the police department is actively investigating the matter.

The district has stated that any student found responsible for the creation or distribution of these images will face disciplinary action in accordance with established district policy, which could include suspension or expulsion. Furthermore, the district noted that those involved could face civil or criminal penalties under Oklahoma and federal law. The school has encouraged families to discuss responsible technology use and the consequences of creating non-consensual AI-generated imagery.
