In early July 2026, President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video to his Truth Social account depicting himself in the role of a physician. The content features a synthesized version of the president offering medical treatment to various celebrity critics who have publicly opposed him.

What happened

The video depicts an AI-generated version of Donald Trump wearing a lab coat labeled "Donald J. Trump, MD" with a stethoscope around his neck. Addressing the camera, the digital avatar claims to be a doctor treating individuals for "Trump derangement syndrome" (TDS). The video features synthesized representations of celebrities including Rosie O'Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robert De Niro, portraying them as patients currently receiving medical care.

In the footage, the AI-generated Trump characterizes these individuals as being "so far gone" before suggesting a "treatment plan" that includes turning off news media, saying prayers, and consuming Diet Coke. The video was subsequently shared on the platform X by White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino. This release follows a previous incident earlier in the year where the president posted an image of himself depicted as a religious figure healing the sick, which he later insisted was intended to portray him as a doctor.
