On July 2, 2026, President Trump shared an AI-generated video on social media depicting himself as a medical doctor offering a treatment plan for a condition he labels "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (TDS). The video uses synthetic media to portray the President in a white lab coat with a stethoscope, claiming to treat critics who are characterized as suffering from the non-medical condition.
What happened
The video features AI-generated versions of actors Rosie O'Donnell, John Leguizamo, Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Norton, Robert De Niro, and Julia Roberts. In the clip, these deepfake portrayals lament the effects of their opposition to the President, claiming it has caused them to age significantly and made those around them miserable. The AI-generated version of Trump responds by offering a mock treatment plan that includes turning off the news, saying prayers, and consuming Diet Coke.
This incident follows a history of the President sharing AI-generated content on social media. In April, he posted an AI-generated image portraying himself as a religious figure, and in February, he shared an AI video that depicted former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes.
