What happened

Ravi Kishan filed a suit against several individuals, websites, and online platforms, alleging that his identity had been systematically misused across social media. According to the claims presented in the suit, various entities uploaded objectionable reels, fake statements, and sexually explicit content using his name and image without his consent. Some platforms were accused of utilizing his name within keywords and URLs to host pornographic material.

Following the filing, Justice Jyoti Singh directed the removal of specific URLs containing obscene or AI-generated content. The court mandated that defendants and domain registrars must remove the listed URLs within three days of receiving the order. Should they fail to comply, major platforms including Meta, Google, and X are required to remove the identified content within 72 hours of notification. The court has issued summons to the defendants, who are expected to file written statements within 30 days. The legal proceedings remain ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for August 2026 and the interim injunction application set for October 2026.
