Deepfake candidates were used in live interviews to infiltrate organizations. Candidates used a third-party "handler" to debrief after the interview and coordinate completing technical assessments. Pindrop's analysis showed 1 in 4 DPRK-linked applicants used deepfake technology. Some candidates had stand-ins attend interviews or had someone else complete take-home assessments.
