Senior Congress leader and government adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir has formally denied allegations linking him to a controversial audio clip, characterizing the recording as a fabricated, politically motivated attack. The incident centers on a 54-second audio file that allegedly features Shabbir making derogatory remarks about TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and various women leaders within the party.

What happened

The controversy began on June 10, 2026, when the audio clip was published on the X handle of Telugu Scribe. Shabbir contends that the recording is not genuine, suggesting it was created using modern voice-cloning and artificial intelligence technologies. Following the clip's widespread circulation and subsequent coverage by various television channels, Shabbir submitted a detailed clarification to the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Disciplinary Action Committee to defend his reputation.

Shabbir has filed a formal police complaint in Kamareddy, requesting a comprehensive investigation into the origins of the clip and a forensic examination to verify its authenticity. He maintains that the episode is part of a deliberate conspiracy orchestrated by a group of leaders, including Gaddam Chandrashekhar Reddy, intended to destabilize the Congress party in the Kamareddy district and create internal discord. Reaffirming his personal loyalty to Mahesh Kumar Goud, whom he described as a friend and younger brother, Shabbir asserted that the statements attributed to him are entirely inconsistent with his character and relationships.
