Lisa Townsend, Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner deepfake (Nov 2025)

A deepfake video was created of Lisa Townsend, Surrey's PCC, promoting a financial scheme to warn people about fraud. The deepfake video encourages users to register to "secure money in their bank accounts." The real Lisa Townsend then clarifies that the video was created using AI as part of the Question Everything campaign to highlight the dangers of AI-generated fraud. Only three seconds of audio is required to clone a person's voice to be manipulated and say whatever a criminal wants.
