What happened
On July 29, 2026, it was reported that Tinder’s AI-driven tool had been altering the appearances of a small number of users. The issue came to light after users, including Jenny Rubin, received notifications that their profile photos had been enhanced. Upon reviewing the images, Rubin discovered that the AI had replaced her natural closed-mouth smile with a wide, toothy grin that did not belong to her.
